On March 28th, Senator Schatz, Representative Takano, and Representative Lee introduced the Rise Up for LGBTQI+ Youth in Schools resolution in Congress, a call to demand equal educational opportunity, basic civil rights protections, and freedom from erasure for all students, including LGBTQI+ young people in K-12 schools.

The National Education Association, American School Counselor Association, the National Association of School Psychologists, and more than 140 LGBTQI+ justice, civil rights, and education organizations joined GLSEN in supporting this resolution.
The Rise Up for LGBTQI+ Youth in Schools resolutions and proclamations on this map represent LGBTQ+-friendly states, local educational agencies, and local governments that are taking a stand against the avalanche of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation that is being passed in this country.
